Maths

Today’s Maths is focusing on using your knowledge of different times tables and applying it into reasoning and problem-solving style questions.
There is a challenge questions for those that want to show off their super brains!
(PowerPoint slides attached)
Times Table Rock Stars-
I have set up a battle- BOYS V GIRLS that you can play daily and build points for your team. I will be looking on Thursday to see who has the most points. Login’s are at the front of your reading record, however if you can’t find them, I can provide them.
English-
Using yesterday’s work of coming up with Winter Alliteration can you write your own Winter Alliteration Poem. You can write it in any style you like as long as you use alliteration throughout. If you can send me them over once you’ve done one, I would love to have a look!
Challenge- Can you tell me what style of poem you have wrote in (for example acrostic, rhyming) and highlight your alliteration used.
Reading-
Continue with daily reading, whether this is your school book or a book from home. Make sure you are ticking each read off on your chart at the front of reading records.
Challenge- Write a book review telling me if you liked/disliked the book with reasons why and a summary of what the book was about.
Hopefully I will see you all very soon.

Good Morning,
Here are some ideas for work for today – all of the work is uploaded  on Google Classroom for you to access (see email which was sent out yesterday afternoon on how to access it).
Maths

Please have a look through the attached PowerPoint to support in answering the questions on the sheet. Let me know if you aren’t sure on any of the questions and I can help:) There is also a video to watch to remind you of your 10 times tables to support your work.

If you download the PowerPoint it goes through each step of how to work out the questions and provides answers which will help.

English

Please use the attached slides to look at different styles of Alliteration poems. The task is attached on the slides. You can write on the slides, a word document or on paper.

There is some videos attached to help with your understanding of how alliteration is used.

Reading

Please ensure you are reading daily. If you finish your school reading book in the time school is closed please feel free to choose one of your own books to read.

You could write a prediction on what you think the book might be about or a book review telling me what happened and if you did/did not enjoy the book with reasons why.

Hi Y3,

I have set you all a design task to keep your creative minds active. I would like you to explore designing a sustainable interactive toy package. You are to use your learnt skills of deconstructing a used package and then reversing the cardboard and designing an interactive backdrop for a small toy of your choice.

Challenge:
You could deconstruct another package and use the cardboard to make accessories like the example attached.

Step 3
Ask an adult to take a photograph of your interactive sustainable package design – this could include you too – playing along with your chosen toy to show how the design works in action!

Step 4
If you would like to ;show and tell’ your design, email me your photographs and I will place them on the school website. jlimer@stmatthewsjarrow.co.uk
