Year 6 spent time today reflecting on the 1914 Christmas Truce. After reading the beautiful book ‘War Game’ by Michael Foreman, we spent some time re-enacting this famous festive football match. This morning, our Y5 and 6 Sportshall Athletics Team took part in the South Tyneside Finals at Temple Park. After weeks of training in PE lessons, all of the children performed brilliantly and were crowned South Tyneside Champions! Well done Team Matthews!
