Children’s Mental Health Week – Place2Be Fundraiser

Thank you to the generous donations during Children’s Mental Health Week via our Just Giving page – we have surpassed our target of £250 and raised £391 (+ £68 Gift Aid) up to 11.45am today for the wonderful charity Place2Be. The page is still open for donations just search for stmatthewsrc on Just Giving.

Half-term break is Monday 15 February 2021  to Friday 19 February 2021 – school and all remote learning will close for the week from 3.30pm 12/2/21 to 9.00am 22/2/2021. Take some time to relax and enjoy some leisure time (within Lockdown guidelines!). As the country awaits an update announcement from the government on 22 February 2021 in relation to this lockdown period – we will be interested to hear what plans the government has for the reopening of Primary Schools.

Lent 2021 – the Journey to Easter

Next week we celebrate Shrove Tuesday (Pancake Tuesday) on 16 February 2021 and the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday, 17 February 2021. We look forward to journeying through Lent with you all and hopefully we will be in a better position to celebrate Easter together this year!

A BIG THANK YOU – to all staff at St Matthew’s.

All members of staff have been in school every day and have been catering for both in-school pupil learning and remote learning this half-term. Their dedication and continuing professionalism during a National Lockdown is greatly appreciated as they all have families of their own to support and Keep Safe during this pandemic. THANK YOU!

COVID-19 Testing during the half term break

It is important that school is kept informed of any positive COVID tests in families over the holiday period. Please use the following email address to contact school with any information – office@stmatthewsjarrow.co.uk

Thank you for your continuing support  and enjoy the half-term break from school work.

Take Care and Stay Safe
