Dear Parents/Carers

Thank you for the continuing support we are receiving as we progress with our Home Learning programme via Google Classroom. Once again I will emphasise the importance of keeping a good balance of work and recreational activities to help reduce stress and anxieties in the family home.

We pray for all those families in our community who have had recent bereavements and we keep in our prayers all those in our community who are ill at the moment. We pray for Fr Saji as he continues to recuperate from his recent illness, he is feeling a lot better and thanks you all for your prayers and the classes from school for their get well cards.

Monday 8 February 2021 Training Day – Just a reminder that Monday is a Teacher Training Day – school and Google Classrooms are closed for the day.

Children’s Mental Health Week – Place2Be – The children have been actively involved in activities and tasks throughout the week culminating in today’s Google Meets where we were celebrating the ‘Dress to Express Day’. Donations to support Place2Be can be made on our JustGiving page.

Help us reach our Target of £250 and maybe get beyond this!

Thank you for the kind donations made so far.

National Lockdown – the lockdown is still in place and we are all working together to ensure we Stay Home and Stay Safe. School staff take part in Lateral Flow Testing twice a week as part of the government programme for Educational establishments. It is imperative that we don’t become complacent in our actions and adhere to all guidance in relation to contact with others outside your own  household/support bubble. We are all suffering together through these restrictions but this short-term pain will hopefully provide long-term gains.

As Captain Sir Tom Moore said:

“I’ve always believed things will get better. The sun will shine again.”

Thank you Captain Tom you have inspired us all to believe that we can get through this pandemic -TOGETHER as ONE! May you rest in peace and in the knowledge that your legacy lives on in our wonderful NHS.

Take Care. Stay Safe. Support each other. Pray for each other.

God’s Blessings on you all.

Martin Humble

Headteacher – on behalf of the St Matthew’s School and Parish Community
