Dear Parents/Carers and children of St Matthew’s

What a very different and challenging academic year this has been for us all. Thank you for the support you have given us during this period it is greatly appreciated. I personally would like to thank the wonderful staff at St Matthew’s who have worked so hard to try and keep in contact with you all through Google Classroom.

Good luck to our wonderful Year 6 as they move on to the next stage in their education journey, they have been a great credit to their families and the school throughout their time with us – culminating in an excellent Lockdown Production (please have a look for the link on our website and facebook page).

Moving on too is Mr Clark who leaves us today to pursue a new career pathway – I would like to thank him for his time spent with our pupils over the past 5 years and wish him well in the future. Miss Isles will be our new Year 3 teacher from September and is really looking forward to meeting with the children. Miss Isles has recorded a video message for her class which Mrs Aitchison will be putting on the Google Classroom this Sunday 19 July 2020. I apologise for the short notice of this appointment but timescales have been very tight. Miss Isles has been into school on a supply basis and knows the children from a time on supply when they were in Year 1.

Goodbye to the lovely Kovacs Family who leave the country next week to move to Hungary. We have loved having all three children Lidu, Borcsi and Barni in school and we wish them well as they move on to their ne life and new  school in Hungary.

Year 6 Residential to Thurston has been postponed for September 2020 but we have transferred the booking to 19-23 April 2021 – FINGERS CROSSED!!

I wish you all a restful and happy summer break and look forward to seeing you all in September for the start of a new academic year. If we have any updates from school we will publish these on our website and text you directly to notify you of these updates via teachers2parents (Edupost)

There will be monitoring of incoming emails throughout the summer – if you need to correspond with school please use the following  office@stmatthewsjarrow.co.uk

God’s Blessings on you all

Martin Humble
