A super week, Year 6. We had so many impressive pieces of work last week. The house point totals were super! Our weekly winners were:

Top performer – Max… a brilliant week Max. The standard of your work was superb!

Top House Points…Zara…. I think that’s the highest total we have had!

Writer…tough choice…Emma, Lidu and Evie.

Presenter…Mrs Limer… a super piece of art work, taking your time to shade correctly. Well done! 🙂

TTRS – Finlay

Art

Hi Y6
This weeks art lesson is all about understanding line, shape and tone. I know you are all very good at using mark making to create tone, texture or pattern within your drawings by using hatching and cross hatching and other simple mark making but this lesson will introduce to 2 possibly 3 techniques that you have not used before and would be really good for you to master as you move onto secondary level Art.

You need to watch https://classroom.thenational.academy/lessons/understanding-the-basics-of-line-shape-and-tone

At the very start of the lesson there is a short simple quiz for you to do – please make sure you complete the quiz before you begin the art activity and then revisit it again at the end of lesson.
You will need to have tried these techniques to enable you to complete next weeks lesson – Creating an ‘Abstract’ art work.
I will be looking out for a ‘Lockdown Artist of the Summer Term’ – so I hope you all do give these next two art lessons ago!
So looking forward to seeing your work.
Mrs Limer

It would be lovely for Y6 not to be bottom of the Reading Plus League Table this week…just saying! 🙂

Have a lovely week! 3 weeks to go!

Miss Wiblin xx
