GOOGLE CLASSROOM UPDATE…
A message from the staff!
Here is a little tutorial video to help make life easier when using the Google classrooms.(There is a small section…when we are showing a word document where it doesn’t record the screen but you can still follow the instructions).
Alongside the video, we would like to share the following messages:
- The classrooms will be run slightly differently between Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
- For our younger children, there will be a lot more practical tasks. We love to see what you have achieved, so if you would like to send us a picture or a copy of your work then that would be great. (If you do send us a picture, please indicate if you do not wish for us to share on the website and on our social media platforms).
- For our older children, there are a lot more written tasks, where you can hand them in to the teacher. The video will show you how to do this. Each class will run their own virtual house point charts to inspire and motivate them to complete tasks…as we know how difficult it is for the children to be working at home at the moment.
- Work will be uploaded on a weekly basis – usually on a Sunday evening/Monday morning. The tasks are there to be completed by the following Friday. We KNOW how difficult this is to manage, especially when you are working from home. Please do not worry if your child has a quiet week on the classroom. It will be fine if they don’t complete some of the work. Please do not have a panic on the Friday or the weekend to try and complete it. We would prefer the children and yourselves to switch off during this time and simply start again the following week.
- We are constantly trying to improve the running of the classrooms and we have daily conversations with each other as to how to do this. It is a learning experience for us all. Look out over the coming weeks for our usual Summer Term activities…transition, sports day, sandcastle challenge. This situation is not ideal, but by working together we can hopefully reach the end of this unusual time and get our children back on track.
