What a day for our football teams. Today was the South Tyneside Champions League Final at Washington Hub for both our mixed team this morning and the girls team this afternoon.

The final included the 6 best teams from the borough all competing to be crowned overall champions for this season.

The mixed team were amazing – winning all 5 games with every single player performing brilliantly – some of the best football we have seen them play. It was a massive team effort and they never gave up.

Then it was the girls turn. Right from the first whistle, they all played incredibly and their team play was amazing to watch. Again they won all five games and never conceded a goal. Truly brilliant! Each player was outstanding.

A special thank you to Alex, Daniel and Gary who have helped so much to help achieve this very special double.
